Great news!

Yes, Sunday at 11 pm. I finished my novel! Finally, after two years. I sat in front of my computer all week end, but the effort was worth it. It's in the box. All I have to do now is have a last look at it, print it and give it to my publisher, on Monday. Hopefully he will immediately read it and we'll soon have and answer on whether he wants to publish it or not. Please, do keep your fingers crossed!!!
Meanwhile new projects at work, the latest one sounds like a lot of fun, we'll see...
And just 'cause I feel great, here's a present for y'all: Misi (pronounced Meeshee)

Wasabi coated green peas

Yes, this a snack I bought today in a supermarket I generally go to in Budapest. I found it in the potato chip section. It looked so weird I just had to buy it. As I was approaching the cashier's, I felt like a little child, I had to open it to try. 'Cause I was gonna pay for it anyway. But I've resisted.
Quite a few questions popped up in my head. Who was that genius that thought about selling something like this in my country? Why would anyone want to eat really hot green peas as a snack? (well, yes, me, but I'm a wicked person). What did they do to the peas to make them so crunchy?
And then, as I was looking at the beautiful Asian packaging with an incredulous look on my face, I saw a warning in Hungarian that totally puzzled me. Here is the pretty literal translation: "The humidity absorbing bag in the packaging is not suitable for consumption". There was no bag inside the packaging. Not that I wanted to taste it...
Guess this is all for tonight. Wonder what tomorrow will bring!

Just a quickie

Sleepy day today, annoying errands to run but the week is almost over! I mean the work part of it. Well, wrong again, I do have to work on Sat and Sun, I have a novel to finish! There you go, I said it. Then it must be true... Tell you what, ask me on Monday. Really, please do ask. A deadline's a deadline, right?
And good news: I planted some catnip seeds last week and they're growing! My cat tasted it tonight and he was definitely enjoying it :) What can I say, I do have a green thumb.

One month to go till Spring!

Yeah baby, winter is fading... not so much visibly, as the sky over Budapest is still quite gray. Nevertheless there is very little likelihood of seeing snow here, it's really only been one day in December. For those of you out there who miss it, as myself I must confess, here is a little present (look to the right).
I'm reading a great Harry Harrison novel, quite a big coincidence that it's about time travel and movies and Norway. Looks like Harry was thinking about me when he wrote it, by the way the same year I was born. Well, except for the time travel part, but who knows?
As for the rest the novel is coming along, I'm very enthusiastic and have a lot of fun writing it. I just hope my future readers will find it just as funny :)
And as always, please do keep your fingers crossed for me, there might be a big project coming up (no, it's not a guy, it's work!).
Till the next then! Smooth sailing!

Welcome back!

So, more than six months have passed and boy! I've been to hell and back... And I don't wanna start giving you all the details, let my therapist worry about them. I'm done looking at the past, at least I hope.
New year, new life, new apartment.
I'm also working on my book, gotta finish it by the end of the month and then we'll publish it, finally, after all these years.
I don't know if there's anyone out there reading this, but hey, at least I'm keeping myself busy :)
More to come, with spring and the nicer weather. OK, this post is a little flat, I admit it, but give me a break. After all, the Tin Man also needed some oil at some point.
Cheerio!
